Business Analyst E-commerce (vervuld)

For the iCAS advertising service eBay is looking for a Business Analyst E-commerce. iCAS is the service which powers the professional advertising of eBays major platforms. It is build around a CPC based bidding model and provides some self-services tools for merchants on top of that.

As a business analyst in the iCAS team, you should be experienced with using data to drive strategy and product innovations. You should be able to detect opportunities or risks from the data and apply that to drive business growth. You will also perform on yield analysis, you should be experienced in using data to model and predict customer behavior in order to optimize revenue streams. You will go one step further than others to get the maximum value out of the various sites, without hurting user experience.

In this combination role, you have the communication style that will allow you to engage with senior leaders, design well-constructed analyses and work across teams with financial analysts, marketers, product managers and product developers to effectively deliver actionable results. You are a top performer who is able to crunch numbers one minute and critically think through strategic issues and product solutions the next.

Job responsibilities include:

• Set-up, manage, maintain and own dashboards and reporting structure for all revenue streams and operational metrics
• Execute analyses on trends, anomalies and opportunities that result in business recommendations and growth
• Use advanced modeling to predict customer behavior and advertising allocation, that will optimize revenue streams and grow yield
• Work together with the teams leveraging the iCAS services to define the key operational and financial KPI’s and provide short term and long term forecasts
• Construct and deliver clear, concise presentations of findings, key product and user performance metrics and management recommendations both in oral and written form
• Working with large data sets and usage of analytical and programming skills to get value out of it

You will be part of the Product Marketing Team of the iCAS advertising service, which support other local business teams with iCAS.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter and has a hands on mentality with strong background in Business Analytics, Management Consulting, or other data-driven roles. You love data, numbers, and crunching and are passionate about online advertising and the e-commerce world.

• Academic degree, preferable with mathematical background
• Very strong analytical, reporting and visualization skills
• Affinity with advanced data modeling techniques and data infrastructures
• Proven experience in working with large, multisource data sets and usage of analytics to drive business and product decisions and strategy
• Advanced SQL and Excel skills. Preferably also experience with R or Python
• At least basic Hadoop skills. Preferably beyond Hive
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to successfully work and partner across multiple functions in an organisation
• The skill to explain complicated analyses in an easy way to colleagues and management
• Ability to work in an agile and flexible environment where change is a part of the day-to-day environment
• The mindset to go that extra mile when needed and celebrate success after achievements
